Most people come to Canyon Lake for the water. They stay for the night they realize they do not have to choose

between sleeping in nature and sleeping well.

Freedom Yurt Resorts sits on three quiet acres at 439 Charter Oak Drive — a boutique collection of eight hard-

sided yurt-cabins, each with its own private patio, charcoal grill, and  hot tub. You get the round silhouette and

vaulted ceiling of a yurt, and the insulation, real walls, and four-season comfort of a cabin. No canvas. No lattice.

No “close enough.”

The property is small on purpose. Units sit about a hundred feet apart with private driveways, so you hear the

wind in the trees instead of the neighbors. Boat and trailer parking is near the entrance. The closest public boat

dock is about two-tenths of a mile down the road.

What “yurt-cabin” actually means here

These are not festival tents with a nicer rug. Each unit is a solid-wall, climate-controlled structure with:

• A private patio, hot tub, and charcoal grill

• A full kitchenette — fridge, dishwasher, two-burner stovetop, and convection/microwave oven

• A luxury bathroom (some units add a soaking tub)

• In-unit laundry

• Smart TV and Wi-Fi

• Climate control for Texas summers and cool Hill Country nights

• Linens, towels, and complimentary shampoo and conditioner

The little things that make the stay feel finished

Check-in is 4:00 p.m. Check-out is 10:00 a.m. (early and late check-out based on availability) Each cabin has its own parking spot. Pet-friendly —$50 pet fee per stay for up to two pets. Quiet hours run 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

And yes — the night sky here is the real amenity. Limited outdoor lighting means you can actually stargaze. Bring a robe. The hot tub is already there.
